In order to reduce traffic between participants, most services compress audio as much as possible. We specifically use audio codecs that transmit the sound with minimum compression.
We also disable all sound “enhancements”: noise reduction, echo cancellation, and automatic volume adjustment. All these tools are designed to improve speech sound but are unsuitable for singing and music. Disabling these functions will therefore allow transmission of the sound as it is, taking into account the quality of the microphones, loudspeakers, or headphones you are using.
